Hello this is for all you scuba instructors out their.
I was wondering if you could make a good living just being a scuba instructor. I'm giving some deep thought on pursuing becoming an instructor.
If you don't feel like stating how much you make then e-mail me please.
I know their are a ton of varibles like location, but a ball park figure would be nice. Thanks

I would give some deep thought to another career choice.........no offence intended.

I must be worth a mint considering all that money I've saved spending it on all those dive shop deals!

Save £20! huh?

(They lied)

Less than $20,000 a year working 7 days a week:) When
I checked Cayman Island instructors make $400 a month plus tips....take up something in the computer field. you'll make more work less....

don't make any sense to me at all.

For that matter, neither do the economics of DMing, or virtually any other part of the business, unless you own a shop and/or run a charter dive boat. That might make sense, but judging how few of the charter boat operators are "making a killing" in the fishing biz around here, and how many shop owners cry themselves a river over how its oh-so-awful that people might by gear from LP.....

Uh... not exactly that bad, but I make one heck of a lot less than in my former life. But as a Cayman Islands Instructor, I can afford a 2 bedroom apartment on the shore on Grand Cayman's East End. I bought a junker "island car" with what I have earned in only 6 months, and am watching my new 27" color TV while I am sitting here with my laptop computer humming.

If you live humbly, you can make it here. Look carefully at the pay package offers, as I know there is a substantial disparity in pay among the various operators.

in the Caymans or somewhere similar it might be worth it, just for the quality of life, if you actually have one (and get to dive for fun too...)
