monday may 24 dive

any divers going to be in catalina monday may24.after my ow is done sunday i will be staying the night....i want to dive monday! how would i plan this?dive park or boat?any help thanks

Dive Park. It's easy as heck and it doesn't cost any extra.

I don't know top of my head but you can check with Scuba Luv and Catalina Diver Supply to see what they charge for guide services.

I assume by "after my ow" you mean you're wrapping up certification? If so, I highly recommend one of two options:

1. Hire a pro. Certification doesn't make anyone qualified to dive safely with other novice divers with few exceptions. There are some that REALLY know their limits while others are so used to having the instructor they forget the risks, pre-dive routines, signals, etc.

2. Join a dive club and hook up with much more experienced divers. There, you'll find rescue divers, dive masters and even instructors that will dive with you.

As for the 24th, if you can't find a much more experienced diver on here for that particular day, go with option #1.

Ditto on hiring a DM or finding a mentor to dive with you. The park is an amazing place to dive but you can get into trouble fast if you are not careful or know your way around.

I wish I was available, I love showing new divers the park.
