Has anyone out there experienced use of a moisture wick or Apollo reg? My concern is that moisture and/or water can intrude in to the 1st stage? Manufacture says no, any opinions?

yes this is one of my favs for reg design. Let me see now the inherent thought that I would want water to come into my mouth during a dive? I believe the idea was to reduce or prevent cotten mouth. I test dived the Apollo reg and had the equipment rep there when I did it. He was reluctant to accept that even following the instructions the reg still put a wet feeling into your mouth. My report back to him was that the reg was crap and my sentiments were observed by several other divers. we all failed the reg. But hey ask Rodale about their testing of the reg. i did comment on the fins Apollo made as being Ok. Much to mine and the other test diver's surprise we were told that we would never test dive their equipment again, hey no problemo.

My primary concern, was the water intrusion into the 1st stage.

Another reg mfg whose design fights "cotton mouth" is Sherwood. Small gold-plated fins in the 2nd stages of their Oasis, Blizzard and Maximus regs collect/condense the moisture from a diver's breath & return it back to them on the next inhale.

I had a Blizzard for 10 years & found it actually worked quite well.

Just thought you might want to hear about another reg in this category...

I don't know if I should say; "Fortunatly or Unfortunatly", But I already own the Apollo. It performs great in all aspects, and at this point, I'm very happy with its performance. I was more concerned, (considering, it's constuction). If, moisture, and/or water could intrude into the first stage?:boom:
