I just spent 10 days diving with Savedra. The new manager is a friend of mine I met in Moalboal several years ago when she was doing her instructor course.. Now she is the IDC Course Director. They take in new local staff, train then from OW to DM and even to instructor level.

This chap Mark I dived with for several days. Great DM although he was shocked that I was the first vacation diver who is better on air than he is lol. They train their staff to stay in horizontal trim. This DM has good eyes for spotting critters. We found some nice Spider Crabs. I found a pair of red candy crabs on one soft coral. Also ghost pipe fish. He was having fun as with me and my buddy he lets us find things while he looks for things. We did a BBQ for the staff at the end of my dive trip rather than pay tips only to the DM's.

As I have done over 800 dives in Moalboal I was able to show him some spots he did not know about.

Also he would see the NDL on my Shearwater was a lot longer than his Suunto overs multiple dives. Also had dives with my buddy where we did our own dive and Mark took divers and we just met back at the boat after an hour at Pescadore Island. That was a new thing for him as he had never been told to let divers just head off on their own dives. He was relieved to see us arrive back at the boat pick up point just before the hour was up. A new experience for him. Savedra has three boats of different sizes all easy to dive from.

Savedra has a great setup for divers and lots of hang space and luggage racks and lockers.
Several of the DM's are full time staff and when really busy they bring in some freelancers. I dove with 3 DM's but Mark was assigned to myself and my dive buddy. After first morning dive we stayed at the dive center to chart with the DM and staff. After second dive went for lunch back at 2pm for the 2:30pm afternoon dive. My dive buddy who is a DM often likes to start shallow maybe 10m but somtimes will come a bit deeper to 20m or more.

I had a couple of vacation divers get anxious as they saw me in the horizontal trim not moving at all.... no bubble trail... sometimes I get in my zone where I just chill out. One of the vacation divers thought I had become a corpse. lol

@Blackcrusader
LOL.
Scuba diving is a recreational sport, no more and no less!
Equipment does not make a good diver. PERIOD.
I used a 28 yrs old Aladin and back up with an Oceanic running on DSAT.
As for the diving ability!!! Blowing your own trumpet!

How come I had never came across anyone on line BS his/her own ability on skiing. I also participated on other recreational sports and had the same conclusion.
Chinese proverb: One mountain is higher than another. Do you understand the meaning of it?
If you think you are good , there is always someone else better than you.

Be humble especially in public.
