That is a very cool looking 2nd stage! Where do you find this stuff?

Real easy...all you need is a time machine.

I have a Tekna Mk V clone on the repair bench as we speak...

Easy, I bought it brand new on Westhiemer Street at I think it was Texas Scuba in 1978 in Houston. I have had that regulator to 240 or maybe it was 235 feet, don't recall exactly at the moment. I made several deep dives during that time exploring the edges of the Flower Gardens. I may have gone deeper but I am not telling. Still works good.

Why are you working on a reg and goofing off on the internet at the same time? :D

I take it you are teaching right now.....

I don’t know about the Oceanic, but in the case of the TUSA, they did not use the same size turret bolt. I ordered a couple of TUSA turret bolts and they are larger.

I don’t know if there are any other differences between the two regulators, but this is definitely different. I also don’t know if all of the TUSA MK-V clones used the same size turret bolt or if they changed at some point during production.

I still have the mechanical drawing I made a while back and I got some quotes, but I think it was working to about $20 each, but I can’t remember what the minimum order was.

If there is an interest, I can look into it again.

Luis,

I ordered a turret bolt for a TUSA MK 10 clone and it was the same size as the SP...odd that the MK V clone is different, could it be possible the people you ordered from got them mixed up? The MK V uses a hex head and the MK X has an allen broach.

It is on the repair bench as we speak, I'm just not there with it. I am unfortunately screwing off at work - well not really, they do give me breaks as well as a lunch hour and the lunch options here really suck. Besides the Scubaboard Diet is pretty effective.

Anything is possible, but I picked the part number from the TUSA diagram for the regulator that was suggested as the MK-5 clone. I can’t remember who suggested it, but from the diagram it does look like a MK-5. Diagrams are not mechanical drawings, so it was impossible to tell if it was going to be the same part.

The part I got for the TUSA regulator has the internal hex key (Allen wrench) broach, not the external hex like the MK-5. The thread size is larger and perhaps similar to the MK-10, but the geometry of the rest of the regulator in the diagram looks more like a MK-5 than a MK-10.

If anyone else has any more information, I would like to know about it.

I can post the TUSA diagram later from home if that will help.

Do you have a TUSA model number for the Mk-10 and MK-5 clones? …they must call it something else than the Mk-10 and MK-5 clones.

The TR-400 Imprex was the reg that used the Mk5 clone. My shop used these for rental regs for years, and still has some in the store. I don't know about the first stage part # specifically, but I can tell you that the DIN adaptor from the TUSA is currently installed in my Oceanic BP Mk5 clone.
