MK16 Scubapro

Can anyone shed some light on this reg for me?
I have just brought one off Ebay.uk
Is it still in prodution or has it been replaced by the MK17?
Is it environmentaly sealed and if not can it be?
Is it any good?

It is still in production - by Tabata - who sells it through TUSA (Tabata USA).

Scubapro has replaced it with the MK 17. The Mk 17 uses a slightly different balance arrangement and a different seat alignment system, bu they are otherwise very similar. The noteable exception here being that the Mk 17 is sealed and the Mk 16 is not.

However, even though it is not sealed, it has excellent heat transfer and a very open and easy to rinse ambient chamber so it is still very reliable in cold water and is easy to maintain.

It is in short a very good reg.

The reason I brought it was because I got it at a reasonable price and its DIN.
I use MK25 for my doubles and a yoke MK10 for singles but I want all DIN.
Is the service kit the same for the MK18 and MK16?
Whats the differance?
