One of my MK10/G250 sets was hanging on a hook in my garage when hurricane IKE came through so it got saltwater all over it. The yolk gasket/dust cap was firmly in place and when I removed it yesterday the inside appears shiny with no corrosion. My question, is it able/worth it to try and have it rebuilt?

Rebuilding it should not be a problem. While it may not come out pretty, it should work fine.

Certainly.
The green powder coating on the outside is cosmetic only and will come off easily with a soak in vinegar or ultrasonic cleaning.
The only surface that an o ring moves against the body is where the big end of the piston makes a seal.......and even if all the chrome is gone from here the reg will still work but might need more frequent servicing (once a year rather than every 3-4 years).
