Hi All,

I think my gf is pretty dead set on getting a Mikron. The only con is that I just got her a hoseless AI computer - so she will need 2 HP ports (one for the transmitter, one for the spg - yes I know...the only computer need is between your ears, etc) - anyway...its I'm just going to assume to get an HP "splitter" from my LDS will be around 60 or so bucks (taxes, installation, etc - its about $40 for the unit at NESS) - assuming to upgrade her yet to be purchased Mikron 1st stage to a Legend with 2 HP ports is a little more, it may just be less headaches to do so?

That is assuming that the Mikron 2nd stage (which is really just a miniaturized Titan LX? - and a Titan LX is pretty much the same 2nd as the Legend LX?) is compatible with a Legend 1st stage?

Thanks,

Bob

No headaches using a Micron with a Legend 1st stage.

Big headache finding somewhere to sell you a Legend 1st stage that doesn't cost 75-80% of the price of a regular 1st and 2nd set.

yeah pretty much what Fishpie said,

Aqualung sells the regulator as a set ( they have matching serial# ) so finding a Shop willing to break up a set will be hard to find... I would just assume buying the micron and buy the HP Splitter

or you can look at the Apeks Flight as it has two HP ports.

Why not just get the Mikron and install the wireless transmitter in the lone HP port?
If the wireless transmitter fails to pair in pre-dive checks, then replace it with an analog SPG that she can keep in her save-a-dive kit.
Not everyone who uses a hoseless AI computer dives with a "backup" analog SPG installed, right?

There's nothing magical about the Legend first stage. The i.p. that it puts out will work just fine with the Mikron second stage, as others have said.
