A diver who encountered difficulty three miles off the coast of Jupiter this morning was conscious and breathing by the time he arrived ashore, police said this afternoon.Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Captain Albert Borroto said the man was among a party of five at sea in a private vessel. Those on board the 20-foot Contender managed to get the diver onto the boat, which then came in and docked at the Square Grouper Tiki Bar & Castaways Marina near the Jupiter Inlet.
“Reports we got were that they were doing CPR on board before the boat came into the Square Grouper. When we received the patient, he was awake and had pulses,” Borroto said.
The diver, whose name and age were not available, was transported to St. Mary’s Medical Center.
Borroto said initial reports that two divers were in trouble were false.
