Hello divers,

So i reservated a homestay (airbnb) in south misool, i attached a picture of their infoboard and more or less where it is located on Misool. I hear and read people say there is only 1 Resort on Misool but i see those homestays and i think i dont understand the Misool thing.

Can somebody enlighten me?
I would love to dive it but could settle for a cheap option from land.

LOB is pretty expensive and i have 5 weeks and like to keep it within budget.

Any info on homestays, logistics and must see diversites on Misool?. Thank you in advance!!
(Dugong!!! I have never seen.... Are they around somewhere in Raja this feb?).

In the past there was a surge of fake accounts in airbnb/booking.com etc claiming to represent local families' homestays in those platforms.

I'm not sure you are aware of what homestay is. Most of them don't even have doors and/or windows and owners barely speak any english (quite often), so I highly doubt they meet the minimum required standards to be in sites like airbnb.

Have a look in this link:

Stayrajaampta.com don't offer anything for misool itself, but I think that this link is the best and most up to date info about homestays in the said area you can find online.

Good luck

Misool Eco Resort (Misool) is a beautiful dive resort located on Batbitim Island. Batbitim island is about 65km from the actual island of Misool in Raja Ampat.

I have been to Misool Eco Resort a couple of times. The diving there is incredible. There are many descriptions of the environment and wonderful resort on the Web. The resort established a marine reserve in 2005. It has grown to encompass 300,000 acres and includes three ranger stations. The growth in marine biodiversity within the reserve is estimated at 250% since its inception.

There are many liveaboards that call on dive sites near Misool Eco Resort.

I have not been to the actual island of Misool. A quick search did not return any dive operators on Misool island itself.
