The state's two day lobster season started at midnight this morning and multiple incidents have been reported...

Lobster diver airlifted to Miami hospital after being hit by boat propeller

MONROE COUNTY, Fla. — A lobster diver was airlifted to a Miami hospital after he was hit by a boat propeller, officials say.
In a post on Facebook, the Monroe County Sheriff's Office says the incident happened just after 8 a.m. Wednesday near the Boca Chica Bridge in the Lower Keys.
Deputies say the diver was brought ashore at the Key Haven Boat Ramp following the incident.

Trauma Star responded to the scene, landing on the Shark Key Bridge — causing traffic to be blocked on U.S. 1.
The diver's condition is not known at this time.
The Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) is now investigating.
The incident comes during the first day of "Spiny Lobster Sport Season," also known as "Mini-Lobster Season," which takes place on the last Wednesday and Thursday of July.
