We got to our spot and found perfect surface conditions. Low tide, no waves and vis looked pretty good. Upon entering the water, we found it to be much warmer than expected and began the first dive. Vis at depth was close to 15' at times and our new BCD's both fit/worked perfectly.
While we switched tanks, the wind changed direction and increased so dive two had a little surge but vis remained close to 15'. We each ended up with a dinner's worth of scallops and saw about 20 short bugs and 1 legal sized (with eggs which seemed early to me).
All in all a great way to test out some new gear and shake off the cobwebs. Both our boats should be ready to go by the beginning of next week so serious scalloping with follow soon after.
