I have a new regulator, dive computer and BC I want to try out this weekend at Millbrook Quarry. I'm looking for a dive buddy who would like to dive this weekend (day TBD).

Mike

How much does it cost to dive at Millbrook these days? How far from Richmond (West End) is it?

I haven't dived any of the quarries around Richmond, but with Isabel, the Bay/Ocean might be more difficult to access than usual. But if I don't blow bubbles soon, I'm gonna go nuts! :)

$10 if you buy the ticket from the dive shop.
$20 if you buy it at the quarry.
I do not know how far it is from Richmond, but Lake Rawlings is closer to Richmond than Millbrook.

The Dive Shop if Fairfax sells Quarry tickets for $10. Other dive shops sell them also (Adventure Scuba in Chantilly sells them for $11).

From Richmond you are probably looking at ~2 hours to get to Millbrook Quarry that is located in Haymarket, Va just off Interstate 66.

Mike ;)

I know at least a couple who are hitting VA Scuba on the way (off exit 44 on the way to the quarry - open at 7:00 am) to get quarry passes (also $10) and air fills.

I may join you guys, but have to wait until tomorrow to find out for sure..

The Dive Shop organizes fun dives on Sunday mornings at Millbrook Quarry, so I've signed up with them for this weekend. They meet at Beach #2 - may be I'll see some of you there.

Mike;)

Beach 1 - early - mostly working on skills for the folks in the upcoming Lake Rawlings DIRF ... PM if you are interested and want to join us.
