Caymaniac how long ago did you have this experience with Mike Ball? As I understand it this was the policy several yrs ago(?) With Mike Ball repurchasing the company he has eliminated this practice of charging a different rate for American and Japanese, so now everyone pays same rate.

The trip to Aus was 2004, I made phone calls and e-mail contacts in 2003 for the summer of 2004. Also in 2005 (April) I went to "OUR WORLD UNDERWATER" and had a verbal contact with Mike BAll rep. at the show who admitted that they had the practice of charging more to Americans, he stated it was standard practice.

Maybe with MB repurchasing the rates are now better.

Currently Star Dancer is 2195 for 7 nights, Mike Ball is 2715 for 7 nights.

Scubakai, I'm telling you I was shocked too that they would turn away business. Maybe they had it sold or hoped to have it sold or someone had verbal that it would be sold, I don't know their reasons. I will tell you it was also shocking to hear when we checked on their trip in Cairns. If I would have known that a trip could be purchased cheaper while in Cairns just before the boat leaves and that in July there would be availability, I would have waited. On a trip that far from home I would not want to chance that there might be availability.......I would want a reservation.
