I read somewhere (on SB?) that Miflex hoses don't need hose protectors. I appreciate that they are not rubber, so should not deteriorate the way that rubber hoses do, but what does everyone tend to do?

Use hose protectors or not?

None here. The crimps are thicker and duller on the hoses I have, so I don't feel the need to use protectors.

No hose protectors needed or used on my Miflex hoses.

Thanks, all. I thought that was the case, but they 'aint cheap, so I thought I would seek further opinions.

I use them on mine.

I wouldn't use them on any hose. Regardless of how they're designed, they all seem to have a remarkable ability to trap just enough salt water to speed up corrosion on the hose fitting. The stress on the hose from pulling them off and putting then on can be pretty significant too.

what about putting the protectors on where the hoses attach to the first stage to protect from overhead environment bumps? such as in a wreck if you accidentially bumped the overhead?
