I attached Miflex Extreme 30" reg hoses to my Aeris regs and my wife's Zeagle Regs. It seemed like a no-brainer, but on both of them the hose end connecting to the second stage has about a 1/8" give in the connector nut. Does this seem right?

Attached are four photos: The pair on the left is my wife's regulator with the Miflex connection to a swivel that connects to the 2nd stage Zeagle Envoy. The pair on the right show the connection to my Aeris reg. Both pairs attempt to show the amount of give in the Miflex hose in the Miflex nut. (Apologies for the poor quality of the photos.)

What's it like when pressurized? Does it leak? Have heard of no problems with miflex LP hoses.
Bill

Neither have been pressurized yet. They both need servicing so the regs will go in the shop shortly.

There's an o-ring that slides back and forth inside the female fitting on the 2d stage. To be a 'universal' hose, the nipple that fits into the 2d stage has to be short enough for the most shallow female fitting on the planet.

When you pressurize the hose, it will move the flange back against the nut and that will be that.

...not to alarm you, but wifey's reg appears to be using the 'swivel-o'-death'....those little clam-shell held together by a screw units are famous for blowing apart at akward times....be keeping an eye on those, watch that screw! I like swivels too, but I'm using the Atomic Aquatics integrated 2nd-stage swivel hoses...those babies are 100% reliable and I don't lose a minutes sleep over diving those.....

......also, I have recently upgraded (6) of my reg sets to MIFLEX ( 2 Atomics/ 2 Apeks / 1 Aqualung / 1 Mares )....and NONE of them are showing the "1/8" give in the connector nut" you describe.
