I ordered a new laptop to use at the IDC and later for teaching classes. I noticed this software was available, Microsoft® Streets & Trips 2007 with GPS Locator, and thought that would be great for the roadtrips. Has anyone used this or the previous versions and does it require an additional gps to be attached in line somewhere? I have a Garmin Vista but I'm not sure it would hook up somehow.

Yes, I have a 2006 version with GPS unit. You can get a copycat GPS unit off eBay. I was told that it works same and cheap. As you may know, there are two main brands, MS and Delome in the market. Delome map has more detail info than MS one. MS map doesn't show a USPS post office correctly and can't caculate the remaining time (not active calculation over time).
