Anyone,
Am off to dive the islands of Micronesia , and the Seychelles, and would love to get some tips on where to go/stay/best dive shops/DM's to dive with and of course the best prices with ,and ,again/of course the best foods, and of course the best vis!!! Am I being real here..............................I hope so. Just want to jump right in to the best of the best instead of having to try and sort thru the lesser dive sites. Trip is around Dec /06 thru to Mar/07. Anyone who can help me out with these plans would be greatly appreciated, and in the DIVE WORLD ..........never forgotten........if you get my DRIFT!
Thanks ALL
Wade

Hmmm. I'm at Manta Ray Bay here in Yap right now, a great place to stay. Just came from Palau, try Sam's tours there for diving and hotels. Truk? Blue Lagoon for a land based resort. What is your budget?

I'll 2nd Manta Diver in Yap, fantastic operation & facilities

and if you have some down time in Guam, go to MDA

Budget can vary as to the caliber of diving, just want to dive EVERYDAY, and experience the best dive holiday. Don't need a Sheraton everyday, maybe midrange $ ,but would be nice to know how many sites I should see and which ones I should see twicw etc, and thus know if I should book a week here or 2 days there and maybe get weekly rates. Just started my research on this trip, so I gotta get my *** in gear and learn as much as I can in a hurry and just GO! Thanks for the response and the info! Much appreciated my friend .................ENJOY!

well you might find your days spent in areas are flight dependant. by memory about 2 or 3 flights per week out of Yap

at Yap Divers - 3 dives per day plus a twilight dive and nitrox available

lots of manta diving and then after 2 or 3 days with the mantas you head to other dive sites and could easily spend another 4 days diving those

cheers

Micronesia:

Trun/Chuuk: Entire fleet of japanese boats sunk insdie a coral atoll during ww2. Fantastic wreak dives - the wreaks are becoming coral reefs. Blue Lagoon or Truk Stop for land based operations. Thorfin liveaboard may also be in your budget. Not much to do on surface - bring a book.

Palau: Big walls with lots of big fish (sharks, napoleon wrasse, etc) and large schools of smaller stuff. Nice islands to explore when on surface. Sams is a great dive op. Kramers for post dive drinks and good food (try the blackened sushi).

Yap - haven't been there but its known for it mantas

I would book ahead - I don't know how much, if any, saving you will get just by turning up on the day.

Cheers,
Rohan.
