I am new to the Miami area (and to this forum) and my family is itching to go snorkeling for lobster in our boat. I would appreciate any advice and recommendations on where to go (approximate locations), what sort of structure to look for, etc. For example, are there areas around Key Biscayne or should I head south to hunt around the Fowey Rocks area? How shallow is too shallow? I am not looking for exact spots or secret holes, just approximate locations to get started.

Thanks.

Your best bet is to check on some of the shallow rock areas just off the Virginia Key Beach area.

good luck...make sure you play by the rules.

Take a drive south to Key Largo and go to the Key Largo fisheries . It is lot
cheaper and they are easier to catch . You can eat them at the Backyard Cafe
or take them home with you !
