Since the "crash", MFA seems to be messed up. I put in the code, and it doesn't work (perhaps 10 times). I removed MFA, and turned it back on, scanning the QR code, and getting it on my device, and when you put in the code it generates, it again doesn't work...

This is happening on a Windows 10 PC, Chrome browser, and google authenticator...

Any idea what is wrong?

Yeah same problem here. Using phone, win 10 pc no problem. Tried to use ipad. Mfa failed. Scubaboard rejected pin generated by goodle app

It appears server clocks are out of sync, which is a common cause for MFA breaking as the algorithm uses the current time to compute the code on both sides (client and server). If one of the two devices has a clock out of sync, the MFA code will not match and authentication will fail.

Several people have also noted that posts are not showing the correct timestamp, so that seems to corroborate it's a server issue. My guess is there is a problem with the time server, either the connection is failing or there are no time servers configured and this is a follow on issue from the recent outage.

So what is being done about it? This is an account security issue. SB recommends using MFA, yet has a current system that isn't working with MFA ..

No acknowledgement from Site Support, just us users discussing it here.

I was locked out of my account, but thankfully I had a second device that hadn't timed out yet and I was able to shut off MFA on it or I'd not have any access or be able to post without creating a new account...

Thanks guys! Tech support is blowing bubbles. He'll be here soon enough.

I had also sent an external email using the "contact us" because I couldn't log in..
