I posted a thread about the photo contest in the Cozumel forum, but it seems to have disappeared.....
it is still up on the photography forum though.

Anyone who will be here May 11 - 14th can enter - but read the thread on the photo forum - it is a FILM contest - no digital (I tried people, but they aren't there yet) but MY understanding is they supply the film & Processing - you just have to shoot your best shot! I will be adding more information as soon as they give it to me! But the show - MEXICO UNDERWATER is open to all turists that are here on the island during that time, at the convention center.
I'll pass more info as I get it!!!!!

Could that maybe be because with Adobe Photoshop and similar programs, one can make a digital photo look like anything at all? I can see why they might want it to be a contest of photo technique rather than computer editing ability.

I know what you mean! Of course I am a computer idiot - if I don't get it correct out of the camera - it doesn't happen for me!
But actually I run several digital contests every year, and have it dialed in so it is the image off the card, directly out of the camera - and that is it! Although it has been suggested that someone could take thier laptop out on the boat transfer the image into photoshop, the re- output back onto thier card - my thought is if they are
A)willing to get thier laptop wet
B) that desperate
they are going to find a way to cheat with any rules we put down!!!!
See you soon!!!!
