I'm looking for information on Mexico Pacific Coast Diving in the Mazatlan to Manzanillo areas.I'd like a short 3-4 day trip out of Oakland, Ca for Memorial Day weekend. I know the water tends to be colder with less visability but we just wanna dive.
Ideally we'd like to do 2 novice dives a day. We don't need swank accomodations or huge amenities. Just want to dive.

Suggestions?

Hi Beth,

For diving information, see our Puerto Vallarta dive report in this forum. Puerto Vallarta is located about half-way between Mazatlan and Manzanillo. The conditions along the pacific coast of Mexico should be fairly similar.

We can offer a nice package for you: 4 nights hotel and 3 days diving for $463 per person, double occupancy at the HoJo Nautilus in Marina Vallarta (valid through march 15th. Prices vary slightly for other dates). Or 5 nights hotel and 4 days diving for $598.

Please contact me at avega@pvscuba.com

greetings from Alex

hello Beth dont hesitate try with la costa divers contact them at rodolfo@lacostadivers.com right now viz is getting better about 45 ft temp between 67 to 69 f have fun!!

Beth, I've been to Puerto Vallarta a couple times this past winter and the diving was great fun. The bay is really gorgeous. I dove with Pacific Scuba - I highly recommend them - very accommodating and professional with small numbers of people on the boat, and they'll work with you on price depending on how much you intend to dive. I've done some searches on hotwire and you can get some pretty cheap rooms for basic accommodations. The city is very easy and cheap to get around in. Have a great time - wherever you end up!

I see your post was back in 2007 so you've probably enjoyed that diving long ago. But consider Manzanillo as a good dive spot. Especially in the winter season. I've been diving in SoCal, Lake Superior, Minnesota freshwater lakes and all around the Caribbean and I have to say I get very excited about the diving in Manzanillo (state of Colima) in Mexico. Manzanillo is a pretty special city on the verge of a growth explosion. There is very good diving here! Consider us if you visit. Aquatic Sports and Adventures, a PADI Resort Facility. New in the area and looking for folks seeking some good dive opportunities. Also very interested in LOCAL DIVERS!
