I've always rented a car when I go to Mexico. Sometimes just for a day, sometimes for the whole week. Depends on our schedule. I try to use a major company. Hertz and Avis and Budget and all those guys have offices at the airports and in major resort towns. Always buy liability insurance.
A single woman, or even a small group of women should use the same precautions they use anywhere else they may travel.

I've always found the people to be most helpful if I have a problem or get lost. Like DocVikingo, I'm bigger than most of the people I may have to deal with, and my 15 yoa son is bigger than me. Maybe they have just decided to leave us alone, but we have never had any problems.

I've finally had the time to real your TR. I loved it and It make me want to visit the Cenotes as well.

I've found out that one of my instructors worked in Playa del Carmen for a year, so we will give me a lot of tips and advice.

I'm being very well backed up, either by you all and my instructor.

Cheers

Sue

Sue, that's wonderful. He will probably be able to give you better advice than the rest of us.

I'm glad you enjoyed my trip report. I'll be VERY interested in reading what you finally did in a couple months! :)

Good luck and have fun planning. You're going to have a blast!
