Mexico dive vacation

Hi all.

I am looking at doing a dive trip to MX in June. 11 days with 6 set aside for diving. The wife is a non-anythingtodowithwaterotherthanhavingashower person so I have to limit my dives for the sake of marital harmony. We are going to spend 5 days on Isla Mujeres and 6 days at Puerto Morelos. Does anybody have any input on accommodations and dive shops in those areas. There is no shortage of either so I am looking for a little personal experience.

I am also looking for restaurant and entertainment suggestions. In the interest of full disclosure, when I holiday I am a fan of being "the only gringo in the place" so off the beaten track is welcome. Thanx in advance.

You are welcome. We have been there and have learned so much about the techniques and recipes. The methods alone are worth taking the class for. The recipe book is a treasure.

That is definitely going on the short-list of things to do. I am the cook at home so I am always looking for something new to make and both the TW (trophy wife) and I like mexican food.

I'm going in August. Diving with WetSet, purchased a 4 2tank dives for me and the TW. They have great dive packages and free rental if needed. The little Mexican cooking school also has a B&B Casa Caribe. Check them both at tripadvisor.com. Are you flying in to Cancun? And if so how are you getting to PM. I was thinking about taking the ADO bus.
