whale shark 2.jpg

Every Summer hundreds of hungry whale sharks appear at the surface off the Yucatan Peninsula seeking food. This draws thousands of tourists on over 200 boats heading across the islands of Contoy, Mujees, Holbox, and other Mexican resorts in Cancun.
Most of these tourists, equipped with their snorkelling gear take the opportunity to swim with these whale sharks which are up to 16 meters long. Health risks for the sharks are still unknown. Tourists have nothing to be afraid of since these sharks are docile creatures that move slowly feeding on plankton...

That article seems like it was written 10 years ago, they already have implemented protections with specif boat numbers, guides, training, licensing, two snorkelers in the water maximums etc...

If whale sharks are mammals, does that make the rest of the article BS also?

Clue: Sharks aren't mammals.

Second clue: Whale sharks aren't unsociable. I have had numerous instances where whale sharks in the Flower Garden Banks will readily approach divers to rub on them, rub on the hull of the boat, rub on the down lines, etc. Whale sharks have no problem approaching divers.

Summary: Try to find something out about whale sharks before you write an article that makes you look completely silly.

Hmmmm, a user with 7 posts, all starting a thread with a link to an outside article.

Oh, look... ALL of their posts include something to the effect of "The News Story: ___ appeared first on BlacksuitDivers"

Way to self-promote and yet still not really contribute anything to meaningful discussions. Thanks!
