Thanks Ollieseth for the information. I assume you were coming in from the deep end and ascending the chimney? If there is a large SE swell running you can get a bit of surge through the cave which can push someone up much more quickly than they should ascend. Is it true that his reg hose broke as per the latest post? This is one of the best dive spots in Australia and it is always sad when someone dies there (lots of overseas divers, mostly backpackers visit there).

It is difficult to read but I appreciate all efforts to help him.

His is wife and father in law are there and his brother is in his way. Everyone is still in shock but focused on supporting his family the best we can.
 
Hey Don,
I just read that article about half hour ago. Can’t believe he had kids, what a horrible thing to happen.
All the equipment was checked by the two drive pros before our second dive and we checked our own kit as well. It happened really fast but if he had a heart attack it would explain why he couldn’t get to this back up regulator.
An why he didn’t respond when the dive master got his own reg into Miguels mouth.
