The Metrowest Dive Club is proud to have local photographer Andy Martinez speak on Tuesday, May 9th. Andy will have copies of his books available, hopefully including his newest book due out this spring.

For more than 30 years Andrew Martinez has been photographing the marine life of the North Atlantic. Deeply respectful of the natural world, Martinez's work conveys his sense of its deep spiritual beauty and since he dives in New England all year round, his photos vividly illustrate the changing seasons of the sea. Martinez has an extensive photojournalism background, his work having appeared in most nature, travel and dive magazines in the United States and in many other similar publications around the globe.

He was awarded first prize in the Underwater division of the Natural Wildlife photography contest. He has had photo assignments for the National Geographic Society to the Fiji Islands, Bonaire, and Cape Cod and has led marine biology study or travel groups to the Galapagos Islands, the Cayman Islands, and the Bay Islands of Honduras. His work is currently used in books or displays in most of the aquaria in the United States.

Please visit Andy’s website to see samples of his wonderful photographs.

Andy’s New England pictures are awesome. I am always amazed at the images he is able to capture at even the most basic dive sites like Back Beach in Rockport. I've done probably 50 dives there and I have never seen a fraction of the creatures in his pictures. This is definetly worth attending

Hi Paul,

He work is really breath taking. We are hoping that his new book is available by the time he comes to the club meeting. I believe this one will be about the St. Lawrence river.

We are all looking forward to it.
