The most important day is Christmas Eve. There is more or less 200 years old tradition. We imported Christmas Tree from Germany (as everybody else). So the Christmas tree is prepared on 24th in the morning. Then when the first star is visible we have the dinner. First we wish each other Merry Christmas and share the wafer (the special one). Then we sit down. According to the tradition on Christmas Eve we don't eat meat. And normally we have 12 different dishes. Plus there have to be an additional place at the table for unexpected guest - tradition says that whoever knocks on the door has to be welcomed and have dinner with everybody.

After the dinner we sing Christmas carrols and get the gifts placed earlier under the Tree. At midnight we go to the church for Pasterka - the Celebrating Jesus Birthday Mass.

On Christmas day we start with huge breakfast - meat and cakes. Then as everybody else - we visit our friends and family and mainly eat, talk and drink. Which takes 2 days - 25th and 26th.
