How far are you willing to drive from Memphis?
I think most of the shops in Memphis go to Bluewater in B'ham, Marthas outside Nasvhille or Madison Quarry outside Huntsville to do open water checkouts.
I don't think there is anything local to dive in near Memphis, unless you like Mississippi River Mud Diving.

The guys at H2O are going to Heber Springs Ark this weekend. It's the nesrest place to Mempho.
