I love turtles. Where was that taken on Kauai? I am headed there in a couple months. Any shore dives where you can see turtles?
There are turtles EVERYWHERE in Kauai. You will see them at every dive site... I did a couple shore dives near Poipu beach. And spent the majority of my time diving with Seasports dive shop. What's interesting is that you can see all the dive boats from shore, but it's about a 1/2 mile swim to the dive sites. I was on vacation, so I opted for the boat.
With the shore diving, you will have a little more "junk" in the water, so if you want the good vis, take the boats out.
But eithor way you choose it was outstanding diving....

Look what was warming up on my driveway last night:
After blinding him for awhile I gently pushed him into some bushes, well away from the house. He is a juvenile southern pacific rattlesnake.

We have a lot of them at this time of year. But it was pretty unusual to see one right on our driveway at about 7:30pm last night. That was a first. I forgot to mention, the "pushing" was with a broomstick.

Ok, headed back up to Hollywell the other day, my new favourite photo spot.
The weather and climate there is so difference from the rest of the island, almost what you'd get in a temperate country...
Anyway here are some shots..

Rain and mud is the life of a farmer
"So after wandering down the trail I decided to take a left.
I noticed that the 'path' seemed to widen and had a bit of vegetation in the middle.
Curious.
You see dear viewers this is what passes for a road way up in the Mountains here.
I realised this to my suprise after I turned the corner and encountered a farmer smartly dressed in his SUV who promptly stopped to tell me in true Jamaican fashion his tale of woe.
"Rain and mud is the life of a Farmer"
Had to agree with him as the clouds surrounded us once again and the tropical sun failed to pierce it."
What lies around the bend?
"The Road goes ever on and on
Down from the door where it began.
Now far ahead the Road has gone,
And I must follow, if I can,
Pursuing it with eager feet,
Until it joins some larger way
Where many paths and errands meet.
And whither then? I cannot say."
