Mike you are right, No strobe when in super macro mode.
Thats a bummer.
Not serious until I get my strobes but it does mean that it is not much use underwater.

Well I will just have to ask the wife for that DSLR, housing, 4 lenses, and strobes for a christmas present.

This is a bit offtopic but you can use strobe in super macro mode. You just need to have a ttl sync cord. With pt-023 you can only use oly strobes/sync cord unless you get a matthias Heinrich replacement bulkhead. With that you can use all sorts of strobes. No I don't have one... at least not yet but I'm drooling to get my hands on one of those. If only I had stopped "making" money with stock in april :D Anyway that bloke has a website where you can learn all about that replacement bulkhead. You could also go the ikelite way and get a new housing but then you could only use ike's strobes with ttl.

If the strobe set up on the 8080 is the same as the SP, you can use it if you set the camera on "slave" in Smacro. The built in flash will flash on slave and slave the strobe. They turn off the flash in Smacro because the lens shields the built in flash.

Victor,

I saw your flower pictures and I couldn't resist putting this one up.
Coolpix 950 in macro mode. I used to borrow this camera from work before I had my own digital.

Hey Dude!

Glad you are having fun in S. CA. 54F, that's a bit chilly, about the temp we were at in Turquoise Lake, but YOUR diving is MUCH more worthwhile!

I can't see the images on SB. I checked them out on PhotoBucket. Nice work on the wide angle stuff! But why no flash?

So what lens are you using? Is that the Sigma 17-70mm? If so that seems to be a great UW lens. I'm wondering how you are getting macro shots at 70mm? Lokks like you have some good vis, and nice diving. Familiar faces in shots by you and others!
