Yet another in my series of hummingbird shots.

This resident female streamertail hummingbird who's taken up residence in a nearby mango tree is not only photogenic, but totally badass!!:)
A few minutes before this it was fighting other hummingbirds away from her nest and I saw it absolutely floor a male who fell into the bushes below!:eek::eek:

Anyway here are the shots that I could take, have about given up on trying to capture it in flight now...hmmm

Takeoff -
The national bird, the streamertail hummingbird is found on the tail of the national airline, Air Jamaica.

anybody have an idea how many photos have been posted here? i'm guessing we have photos here amounting to a couple of books already :D
 
Thanks, ken and yes, I do sleep. During the day :D . Honestly, I like the winter and spring coz the daytime is shorter so I can shoot at dusk/night and not really have to stay up all night for it.
