Hello ScubaBoard buddies! Well, the next generation of Cajuns are all certified and we are making our first family dive all together this morning! I am so happy to have a free moment to give a little information and post a couple of pictures of Media Luna Resort.
We arrived on Saturday and felt incredibly welcome. The staff is very attentive and good at what they do. I was completely blown away by the sheer beauty of the resort location. The buildings are situated on a peninsula that is surrounded on three sides by water. The buildings are unobtrusive and seem to blend into the environment. All of the buildings are very spread out and you never feel crowded. The pace is very slow and relaxed. I must admit it took me two days to get over all the stress of the past two weeks and to stop missing Fantasy Island, but things are much better now.
Since we are all divers, I will tell you first and foremost that Media Luna is at the current time a resort that offers diving...not a full-fledged dive resort. But I can tell you that improvements are already underway and plans for the near future are in place to make the resort much more diver friendly. The dive shop has done an AMAZING job of taking care of everybody and we are incredibly happy with the way things turned out.
I will post a couple of pictures and leave it at that for now...we've got a BIG day ahead!!!
***NOTE: The house wall (Half Moon Bay Wall) here is amazing! The shore diving is absolutely entertaining and so easy. There are two seahorses that can be spotted easily and we have seen PLENTY of spotted drum...in all their phases - juvenile, intermediate and adult as well as pipefish, nurse sharks and MANY other specimens!
