I purchased a 200B in order to get the spring for a 109 to 156 conversion. During disassembly I noted that the c clip for the flow vane was corroded and the VIVA adjustment was "rough feeling". I believe in never removing that c clip but I was curious to look inside and since I got this reg for a sweet deal and only needed the spring proceeded to remove the clip. It came off easily but was distorted enough that I don't want to reinstall. Does anybody have a Mc Master part number for a scubapro replacement c clip.

Also does anybody need a used part off a G200B? G250 rebuild 109 ect. Since I used the spring I think I'm going to be parting it out.

The diaphragm is worth keeping. They last a looooong time, but I do have a punchered one because of sheer stupidity from my side (trying to yank the barrel out with the cover on - Now I know).

Any thoughts for c clip replacement?

The first thing you need to do is determine the diameter of the shaft or groove the were the clip goes. I see from a G250V schematic that the "O" ring is a -008 which has an inside diameter of 3/16". The clip sizes are not the same as the groove size they fit, for a shaft size of 3/16" you would need a 7/32" clip which has an inside diameter of 0.188". McMaster has Side Mount External Retaining Clips in both stainles steel and copper that might work for you, but I'm not sure if the -008 "O" ring rides on the same diameter section as the clip. The clips from Mc Master are also only 0.025" thick, so you might have to use two or three. You also need to consider the outside diamerter of the clip, if I remember correctly there isn't much clearance between the clip and the regulator body. Make sure you get clips that fit tight enough, I'd hate to see you suck a steel clip down your throat while your VIVA knob shoots out the side of your regulator.

I believe that part changed from SS to copper. I measured one and it looks to be 9/32 inch.

Thanks AWAP! I'll try looking up the part today.

I think it's a mistake to not remove the VIVA vane during rebuild, even though SP in their infinite wisdom says to leave it alone unless 'necessary' whatever that means. That little o-ring takes a lot of abuse. If you can't get the right size c clip, the scubapro replacement VIVA vane does not use a clip, it just snaps in place. But first I'd try cleaning the clip and just bend it back to shape you want it.

The G200B is a fine regulator, unless yours is in terrible shape I'd simply buy a new spring, rebuild, and sell it or use it. The air barrel is too short to be used on a G250, the lever is likely to not be the most recent version with the curved feet, other than the diaphragm and orifice I can't think of parts that would be all that useful to someone else.

I really agree with servicing the o ring after having a look at the ring I replaced. When I first looked at it I wasn't even sure it was an o ring. It looked like a piece of hard red plastic (like the red hp seat ring for the mk10).

I gave the c clip and quick run in the ultrasonic to get rid of the rust. I then proceeded to give the clip a gentle bend and break it into two pieces. Now I'm paranoid that I will end up aspirating the c clip out of my main workhorse G250.

So who can sell me two of the new style VIVA vanes?

I was in Sear Hardware the other day and they have all sorts of c clips, e clips etc. Probably not stainless, but will work fine until you get exactly what you need. The cost was about $0.60 ea.
