Hi
We can take a trip during May or September. Is this a good time to dive and if so what area?

Any advice on landbased vs liveaboard?

We love reefs and abundant fish life. If we see some 'big' stuff then all the better , but nit the main focus of our diving.
Not keen on muck. 120 dives under our belt, so dont really want ripping currents, but we are well able to dive in moderate currents. Happy with backward roll entry from inflatables etc etc

Travelling from Brisbane. Also want to try to avoid lots of domestic flights where possible.

Thanks

Tubattaha(liveaboard) in May.
Do require domestic flight to Puerto Princesa.

Another suggestion would be Malapascua(land based).

Padre Burgos in Southern Leyte. Both May and September are good, with opportunities to see whale sharks in May. Not much other big stuff, but great walls, pristine reefs and macro galore.

I don't think Her'nan Cort'es ever set foot in Philippines. Could be wrong!

I'd go in September to get the place to yourself. The weather is generally still good and you can miss out on all the busiest times when everywhere is full of divers.

Enjoy.

Matt.
