if u are paddy owc what is the max dept u can dive with a buddy . I'm not looking to push the envelope but just trying to settle a dispute.

60 ft.

There is no legal limit. You are certified to dive. You should have the ability to determine your own max depth. That 60 ft limit some will tell you is a recommendation only, not a true limit. I would strongly advise that after you receive your c-card, you keep your personal limit near the max depth you experienced in your training, that may be 60 ft, but it may be 20 ft. If you want to expand your limit, do so slowly, making a few dives withing 10 so so feet of your deepest dive to date before pushing it deeper.

40 meters is consideted the max recreational depth (130 feet). 60 feet or 20 meters is a recommendation but as others pointed out, take your time to get that deep.

addition - with your OW certification you can't go deeper than 20 meters on many boat trips, only with AOW certification.

determined by your comfort level. With my basic card I went to 133 ffw with no buddy and 146 ffw with a buddy.

The PADI recommendations for maximum depth are:

OW -- 60 ft
AOW -- 100 ft
Deep Specialty -- 130 ft

With any certification, you might eventually reach the bottom of the Challenger Deep, but at 35,838 ft and 16000 PSI you may not enjoy it much.

If your my buddy, then depth won't be an issue. We'll stay where there is light and life and things to actually see. And we'll have a nice long dive as our air will last a long time as well..

Deeper you go, the shorter the dive, and the less you'll see - for most of us recreational types this is contrary to our objective..

:no

:D
