I have no problems clearing my mask however I no sooner clear it and water immediatlely comes in around my nose piece; to be precise just to the outside of both nostrils

Suggestions Mask change??? please help

Do you have any stubble? One day of stubble will make my mask leak, and while not shaving for a week it seals great.

Also make sure it's not too tight, my mask strap barley holds mine on my head.

There are a few things that can cause mask leakage beyond 'bad fit';
  • Stubble/Beard Growth
  • Over-tightened Strap
  • Facial Movement
To rule those out, make sure you are cleanly shaven. Don't over-tighten the strap - it shouldn't leave any marking or indentation on your face. If it's over-tight, it can warp the seal, causing leaks. Try and reduce facial movement/expressions, as this can cause channeling in skin creases that cause mask leaks.

Sometimes though... a certain mask just doesn't seal well on your face. A leaking mask significantly lowers the enjoyment of your dive and can stress you quite a lot. If you can't resolve the problem of a leaking mask, the only recourse is to find a better fitting mask.

My properly fitted mask also leak from time to time if I do not clean its skirt regularly. Cleansing my face with soap before the dive also help.

Also the hair on your head. Although mine is pretty short, the hairs on my head can prevent a good seal. Slick back your hair, or even wear a light hood.
