I'm a Fish!
Hi there

On land I have to wear glasses to watch television or work on the computer. The glasses are 1.5 and 2. If I want to get lenses to put in my mask, can they be the same nrs or should I take the magnification factor from the water in acount and go for a lower number?

I'm in the same boat. I just gave my LDS a copy of my RX from the eyedoc and a few weeks later I got my mask with RX lenses. I don't think they did any extra calculations... I'm sure if you take your RX to your LDS they can fit you properly with lenses for your mask...

With an easy prescription like yours, you don't even need prescription lenses. You can get premade corrective lenses swapped out, even in the store if the LDS carries 'em in stock. Most of these lenses are in 0.5 diopters, which is perfect for you.

Just hand the dive shop your prescription, and they'll do everything for you. Shouldn't run you more than forty bucks a lens for the non-custom ground dealies. I have two masks done this way, I believe a 6.5 in one eye and a 7.5 in the other.

Oh, if you ever plan on corrective surgery or wearing contact underwater, ask to keep the original mask lenses.
