I came across this somewhere.....still cannot believe someone did this...

Trainee divers sometimes have unusual ways of interpreting diving skills. BSAC Advanced Instructor Paul Morley explains:
"I had two novices in a pool. They were both kneeling in front of me, and I did a demonstration of mask-clearing. I looked at the first student and he did it fine; I looked at the second one and he got hold of the mask, stretched the strap and let the mask smack back onto his face.
"His mask was filled with water and his eyes were bulging. Then I noticed that the water level was dropping in his mask, but he didn't appear to be doing anything. It was like watching water going down in a cistern, but I couldn't see any bubbles. He cleared his mask but he had this fixed expression, and I gave the signal to surface.
"I got him to the side of the pool and asked: 'Did you do what I think you did?' and he just grunted. I couldn't believe it. He had snorted the water in his mask up through his nose and blown it out through his reg!"

this should be labeled "DO NOT READ AT WORK"

I say this because I just read this at work and about had an aneurysm trying not to laugh out loud -- it would have been tough to explain...

Honestly, that was the funniest post I have read in a looong time.

Thanks
RJ

Over on TDS we have :alert:
Which is replaced with a big can of coke in a message.
It is the coke alert to tell people to swallow before reading the message.

BTW, This is a urban legend. Where did the air in the mask come from?

I'd like to see him try and do that in salt water!

I don't know if this happened or not but when I went to school guys could make milk come out of some place in the eye... gross. So it would go like snort in some water, breathe into mask- repeat untill water is below nose.

So???

Ice Hockey 101

That's how you steel the puck in ice hockey,
If pulling the mask off doesn't work,
Pull the mask back about a foot and let it snap back,
It drives about half a pint of water up his nose,
while he 's dealing with it, steel the puck and race for his goal.

It's great fun, until the girls team starts pulling your trunks down around your knees.
