I am looking for a place to do my PADI OW in Maryland, can anyone suggest a dive shop to me?

I am in Westminster, MD and work in Columbia.

It has been several years since I've been in Maryland (Baltimore).

I do recall a dive shop on on East side of Riestertown Rd just north of the Beltway, on the way to Hampstead.

Don't know , but hope that helps.
Perhapps one of the locals can steer you there.

Hi, Riverhill.

I have friends down there in Carroll County that I try to see a few times a year. Been itching to dive Silver Lake (Think it's Silver Lake -- right off 27). Next time I head down, I'll let you know.

Hmmm also found out aqua ventures doesn't work with padi.... sorry about that... been along time since I lived up there.

Two of my friends were certified through Columbia Scuba. One of them is now my regular dive buddy if that says anything! :D

I did my AOW with Scuba Hut, in Glen Burnie, but probably wont take any more training with them. It's a long story, but I'll share if anyone is interested.

I haven't taken a class with Aqua Ventures(in Cockeysville, near 695 and 83) but I've dove with them and spent a lot of time talking with their instructor and he's a good guy. I would recommend them over Columbia Scuba for one reason: they are a very good advocate of local diving. Columbia Scuba has good training but they seem to be geared more towards warm water/tropical divers. That's fine, however there is some wonderful diving around here and I think it's a real shame when new divers aren't exposed to it.

Is there a reason you specifically want to train with PADI?
