Hello Scuba Board World
We produce an Australian based marine education/awareness magazine and are hoping some of your members might be interested in it. Its a total love job and we wont hook into your credit card or send you a torrent of spam. The idea is to network with like-minded people nationally so we can all stay on top of marine environment doings. It isnt meant to replace your local newsletter, but rather add a little bit more to our understanding of the big picture. As well as the serious stuff, we have the amazing and frivolous bits too.
Tasmanian University Dive Club :: Marine Life
The magazine is out every two months. It is a free, eco-friendly, advertising-free, email community magazine. The editorial group are all recreational scuba divers and its slanted in that direction a bit, but it is our intention to broaden this to encompass all non-mainstream marine and coastal activities not really covered well by other existing local publications.
We started as a Tasmanian outfit and have now produced our first truly Australian edition (who knows one day maybe global), with bits from all states, including a great article on Jurien Bay. We are keen to advertise your events and would be really grateful for any other titbits of news or warning of upcoming issues.
We arent politically affiliated with any group and want it to be educative rather than preachy in approach, but we are happy to report reasonably objectively on anything happening on the marine scene, but we are also disclosing up front a moderate eco-focus to our reporting. We arent trying to overpower your club newsletter or organisational website either, but report on the broader Statewide happenings in a single unified newssheet.
Whats the catch? None really, its all non-profit and a love job. We would ask you to help distribute the mag amongst your members and friends and also send us an article and photo or two (this can be recycled from your own newsletters and website or tell us where we can copy a good article) when you have the time and inclination.
If it doesnt sound like your thing, we would be grateful if you could sent it to someone who might like it
