I was wondering if anyone had used Swarovski binoculars when out on the water. From a bird-watching point of view, there are very few other binoculars that come close to Swarovskis (especially under low light conditions) but I was just wondering if anyone had used them out on the boat and how they compared with other binoculars.

Kind regards

how they compared with other binoculars.

Steiners are substantially cheaper, and for a boat glass, they'll do quite nicely. I've never had any moisture issues. Steiner Binoculars - Marine Binoculars I left them sitting in a bodega in Roatan for years~ no problem with mold, anything.

A cockeyed analogy: When I am at sea, a 12 gauge shotgun is always handy. Is it a beautiful blue Perazzi? No, it's a nickel plated marine Rem 870 pump. That thing sat in Roatan for 10 years, anyway.

Why spend extra money on sleek styling and lightweight when it really makes no difference in the application?

You've probably seen me in "las Islas" once or twice. Maybe I seen you too!
