Mares RGBM M1?

I just purchased a Mares RGBM M1 dive computer. I am trying to go into setup in the different modes but it seems the mode button doesn't work. The arrow buttton takes me through different screens but when I want to do something like change from nitrox to air or salt water from fresh the mode button won't do anything. Is there anyone here who is familiar with this type of dive Computer who can tell me if I am doing something wrong?

On my M1 the mode button is pretty balky. I normally press it pretty hard and sort of wiggle my thumb around on it. That gets its attention.

It certainly requires more effort than the arrow button.

Thanks for the info. That seems to work. I am able to get to the different setup modes now but I still haven't figured out how to get them to where I can change settings.

On my Mares I really have to nail the button and keep it down while wiggling it for what seems like a long time in order to get it to enter the set mode.

If it doesn't work in the first couple of seconds I retry.

It is a pain, but it gets easier with practice.

I spent the better part of an evening beating on my computer trying to figure it out.

I wore out both thumbs and had moved on to my index finger before I go it down pat.

Enjoy the computer! Mine has been a faithful companion, in spite of its little quirks.
