looking for a little help trying to find a setting in my mares puck pro dive computer that will keep the display alive while diving. The computer turns on when wet and records the entire dive however i keep having to hit the red button to see what my status is. I'm thinking there has to be a way to keep that up as long as the computer is recording a dive.

thanks for any help,
matt

I have the older mares Puck but I looked through the manual on your computer. It mentions a sleep mode when on the surface where it continues to monitor the environment but the display turns off after 1 minute. To see the surface status you need to press the button. It says you should switch to pre-dive mode before immersion in which case the computer shows dive status at 4 ft depth. If you don't go to pre-dive mode it automatically turns on after reaching 4 ft and up to 20 seconds later. In either case the display should remain on until after 3 minutes on the surface. I suspect your computer is not coming out of sleep mode after descending and therefore sounds like a malfunction to me. Try putting the computer in pre-dive mode before your descent. Descend within 5 minutes and if the display turns off while at depth it's a malfunction. I didn't see anything in the manual regarding display settings.

Here's the link to the manual.

I have a mares puck pro and have never had the issue you are saying. I turn it on before the dive by pressing the red button and it remains on the entire dive. If I forget to turn it on, it will turn itself on after I submerge to approx 5 ft. Don't know if there is a set up that you are asking about. I don't recall anything written in the manual about it. Hope you work it out. I like my computer very much. Soca
