Mares Puck Pro: bars on display?

I just bought a Mares puck pro. And have been diving with it this week, I noticed that there's a histogram on the bottom of the display. I can't figure out what it means. It starts out with no bars and gradually increases them. And sometimes I think decreases them as well.

Anyone know what they are?
