Hi All,

Am thinking of getting the Mares Pegasus Back inflated BCD.
What are the pros/cons?

THanks!

The purists here will frown on anything other than Backplate and Wings, and I do not have the experience, expertise to argue with them. That said, I prefer a conventional BC, from a reputable source, and recently purchased the Pegasus for travel, as an alternative to my Balance. Both are back inflate models, the former has fewer whistles and bells, and I only have 2 dives on the Pegasus, but I have to say that it is very comfortable, was a pleasure to dive with, and is close to a Backplate and Wings construction as you will likely find in a commercial BC - and at the Leisurepro price, is an excellent option.

JayWong, have you tried a back inflate before?

My take is try one for size first as my requirements in the correct order:

1. Comfort
2. Ease of travel
3. Replaceable/repairable parts

There are quite a lot of good back inflates for that price so look around.
