I recently purchased Mares MR12 1st stage and Axis Pro 2nd and Axis Pro octopus. I was told by two different dive shops that they were Nitrox compatible to 40%. After going through the owner's manual I find that there is a warning stating that this reg/octo is not intended to be used with enriched air. I then went back and asked the dive shops and they say it's fine up to 40%. I even asked if they could get the Nitrox version that Mares shows on their web site. They then called the Mares US distributor back in Conneticut and were told Mares didn't even sell the Nitrox version in the US.

Any thoughts on whether or not I should use this reg with a 35% mix? The seals and diaphtagms use nitryl rubber - silicone rubber. I know viton O rings are generally used when a reg is being serviced, especially for use with Nitrox.

Thanks for your comments!

After looking through other posts I guess this question has been answered a couple dozen times already. My bad!
