Mares Icon HD netready doesn't pair with transmitter

I Have recently bought a newish (unused, but more than a year old) Mares Icon HD netready that I upgraded from firmware 3.8 to firmware 4.1.
Did a few dives, liked it a lot.
Now I bought a Mares Tank transmitter for it (brandnew) and it doesn't pair.

The first time I tried it said the pairing was successful, but it didn't show any tank data.
After that it failed to pair even after more than fifty attempts.

I tried all distances, resets, factory reset etc...no luck.

What am I doing wrong?
It drives my crazy!

After taking the battery out and in again, the transmitter paired at the first attempt? Now the Icon says the battery of the tank pod is full. Hope it keeps working. This doesn't improve my faith in wireless air integration...

Off the track, what does "netready" mean?

It means it has the ability to communicate with other devices. A air transmitter for now, but possibly other devices in the future...
