how easy are these things to clean? i read the manual and it seems that you almost need to have it pressurized to sufficiently clean it. Does the manual dump valvle unscrew? How do you get the clean fresh water in the bladder?

I'm considering the AT system, but if cleaning is a real drag, it may sway me back to the standard system.

Lastly, what do you guys think of the manual inflator tube in the pocket?

the back up valve unscrews to clean it. I always put in about a gallon of water and then toss the water around and then dumped it out.

I too had a BC with an Air Trim system. Mares LE Morphos Metal, or some such nomenclature. Very nice, easy to control and vent from any angle. I found that by rolling to my right and sticking my butt up a little it was easier to vent while horizontal. Great BC to dive.

When I was going through my Dive Con training we did simulated rescues. I found that experienced Instructors, which were informed in advance of the controls, found it hard to find them and inflate my BC. Forget about manual inflation by a rescuer.

I believe that it is a well built BC but not for me anymore. It's very different from the majority of the designs and in a emergency situation I want something everyone is familar with using.

Just my 2 cents

I have a Mares Airtrim. but after today's diving the air cannot be released.
it was ok when i was in the water. but now the release system is totally not functioning. does anyone had the same problem? and what should i do?
Thanks......

Imagine if that happened in the water.
Sorry mate but it is, all that stuff above, over simplified complicated junk.
Flush the entire system with warm water, air line as well and blow it out.
Take it somewhere for a service and swap it for something of standard configuration.
Put it on ebay.

Do you own one ? Have you dove one? Have you had any experience with one?

do you have the lp hose connected? the air trim only works with air pressure to deflate.
