I'm a Fish!
I have a 6 months old Mares Vector 1000 MRS plus with Airtrim system. I have a query regarding the airtrim system.
At the end of a dive following the safety stop, I always dump my remaining air in the bcd to ensure a nice slow rise to the surface.
On pressing the airtrim deflate button I've noticed several times that air continues to come out forcefully- obviously from the tank, and it doesn't stop until I release the deflate button.
Is this in the design or is there a fault that needs to be addressed ?.

Hi,

The airtrim system utilizes some low pressure air to open both exhaust valves (top and bottom), which allows the air in the bladder to escape. Some air will continue to vent as the deflate button is depressed. If you think more air is coming out then necessary, I would suggest you take it to an authorized Mares dealer / repair center for inspection. At best, if there is nothing wrong you wont worry any longer.

Sincerely,
